If your idea of the perfect summer escape involves wildflowers, hot outdoor showers, and a basket brimming with local cheeses and sourdough, you’re not alone. FRØNTERRA Farm, the regenerative botanical retreat nestled in Prince Edward County, has officially reopened its books for the 2025 season—and it’s blooming with new ways to unwind.

This year, just in time for midsommar—the Nordic celebration of high summer—FRØNTERRA is inviting guests to reconnect with the land, their senses, and themselves. With a deeply rooted philosophy of slow living and sustainability, the farm blends Scandinavian-inspired wellness with the wild heart of Ontario’s countryside. Think luxe canvas tents, wood-fired everything, and the scent of herbs on the breeze.

Canvas Tents, But Make It Chic
Set in a forest clearing overlooking Lake Ontario, FRØNTERRA’s prospector-style tents are anything but rustic. Outfitted with Canadian-made king mattresses, handwoven textiles, and private open-air hot showers, each tent is designed to elevate your connection with nature—not distance you from it. It’s camping with a dose of hygge, and you may never go back.
New This Summer: Immersive, Botanical Bliss
FRØNTERRA’s 2025 season includes a lineup of new offerings that highlight the farm’s dedication to regenerative agriculture, creative expression, and the art of being present:

Floral Immersions
Wander the flower fields, snip your own stems, and let nature guide your palette. Whether you’re creating a bouquet for your tent or joining a hands-on floral arranging workshop, this is where flower power meets meditative calm.
Wild Picnics
Build your own picnic basket from FRØNTERRA’s farm-to-basket market, featuring provisions sourced from the farm and neighbouring producers—fresh bread, local cheese, summer fruit, and botanical sodas included. Then head into the forest or down to the lakeside to graze under the trees.

Botanical Wellness Rituals
Inspired by Nordic spa traditions, these self-guided rituals use botanicals grown and harvested right on-site. Think herbal foot soaks, aromatic facial steams, and wildflower teas, all designed to be enjoyed slowly, in solitude or shared with a friend.
Forest Lounges
Available by the half or full day, these new canvas lakeside nooks are designed for serious friluftsliv (the Scandinavian joy of living outdoors). Claim a daybed or hammock, bring a book or journal, and let the trees and lake breeze do their work.

A Place to Grow
More than just a retreat, FRØNTERRA is a working regenerative farm rooted in the values of ecological stewardship and slow living. Founders Jens and Inge have cultivated a space where both the land and the people who visit it are given the chance to rest, restore, and flourish.
So whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a solo recharge, or a midsummer gathering with friends, FRØNTERRA offers a deeply nourishing way to press pause—and maybe even gather some wildflowers while you’re at it.
